Goal 4: Nurturing Learning Environments

4.District 91 will create and maintain clean, safe, nurturing learning environments in up-to-date facilities that support the district’s mission, vision, and goals.

4.1 In 2007-2008, the superintendent of building and grounds will develop a facilities evaluation process and tool to monitor and report the expected facility conditions.

4.2 In 2007 – 2008, the superintendent of building and grounds will develop custodial and maintenance job descriptions, communicated to employees, and submit to the superintendent.

4.3 In 2008-2009, the superintendent of building and grounds will develop custodial and maintenance evaluation procedures and implement the evaluation process, district wide.

4.4 Beginning in 2008, the superintendent, business manager, and superintendent of building and grounds will meet annually with each building principal to evaluate and develop a facilities plan.

4.5 Beginning in 2007-2008, the technology committee consisting of the superintendent, business manager, network administrator, technician, and technical assistance coordinator will begin meeting weekly to identify technology needs and develop a plan for implementation in each building

4.5.1 In 2007-2008, all generation one and two computers will be replaced.

4.5.2 In 2007-2008, the business manager will identify roles and responsibilities for the technology department and will draft job descriptions for those employees.

4.5.3 In 2007-2008, the technology committee will identify technology use expectations of district staff, including productivity and instructional uses, and communicate those expectations to district staff

4.5.4 Beginning in the summer of 2008, all new employees will be trained on district-wide software applications and productivity tools

4.5.5 Beginning in the summer of 2008, all employees will be offered optional technology training to improve their knowledge on expected technology use

4.5.6 In 2008-2009, all libraries will use an automated library system. 

4.5.7 Beginning 2008-2009, the technical assistance coordinator will provide on-site assistance to teachers to integrate technology in instruction 

4.5.8 In 2008-2009, computer labs will be installed in each building library for computer instruction and classroom use
